    As the temperatures drop, you may be tempted to put the running shoes away until spring. However, our running expert (and cold weather queen) would say otherwise. Coach Madelyn Laundrie provides some tips for exercising in the winter. Here's a sneak peek at her tips. 1. Dress in layers. First up, are your base layers. It’s important to pick synthetic fabrics that are lightly insulated and moisture wicking. 2. Don't forget accessories. Accessories are key to keeping the extremities warm. Smartwool Crew socks are a great option as they are light-weight and made from Merino Wool that helps with temperature regulation and odor resistance. 3. Choose durable shoes.     We hosted our first HIIT & Hops class last Saturday morning at West Sixth Brewing in NuLu and it was SO much fun! Thank you to everyone who joined us and the West Sixth Team for hosting us in their beautiful space! ⚜️ We also had a surprise competition on Saturday! The challenge? Complete as many air squats as possible in one minute. The Humana Foundation graciously pledged $1,000 to support the winner's nonprofit of choice. Chris Bowling was our winner and chose to support Super Drew's Crew through the Norton Children's Hospital . Thank you to everyone who continues to support our community fitness event series. It's always been about more than just fitness. 🩷
