    2024 started with a slightly increasing demand for sea and air logistics solutions. The Group’s net turnover in the first quarter amounts to CHF 5.5 billion, with an EBIT of CHF 376 million and earnings before minorities of CHF 278 million. “In a challenging environment, our focus on efficiency and streamlined structures allowed us to significantly reduce costs. By 2035, nearly two-thirds of the world’s population is projected to be overweight or obese. This statistic underscores the significance for future industry investment. Worldwide obesity costs are estimated to reach USD 4 trillion. Anticipating a tenfold increase in demand for weight-loss products, addressing cold chain #logistics and transport capacity is crucial.

    From Germany to Belgium, South Africa and Singapore: Let’s meet Anna! During the last 18 months Anna lived and worked in Singapore, South Africa, Belgium and Germany as a Global Reefer Trainee in #SeaLogistics. Anna started her academic journey with a Bachelor of General Business in Columbus, USA. After finishing her Bachelors degree, she relocated to Moscow to pursue her master's in Multilateral Diplomacy. Motivated to explore the private sector, she joined Kuehne+Nagel, where she found not just a job but a mentor who provided opportunities for both professional and personal growth. The Global Reefer Team became her domain and safe haven, and over 18 months, she got the chance to delve into the world of reefer logistics and Kuehne+Nagel from various perspectives. "The Global Reefer Traineeship provided a comprehensive and immersive experience, allowing me to grow both professionally and personally. It's been a journey filled with challenges and opportunities across the globe. Studying trade routes, learning how to communicate in an international environment, all whilst getting to know the Reefer product from all the different angles.
